Does success have an aroma?

Mercredi 17 Septembre 2008

So far so good, a hard fought victory against Dax in terrible conditions gave MHRC their first away win of the season. It may not have been pretty, but not every TOP 14 side will come away from Dax with 4pts.this year, remember they gained a bonus point at Toulouse the previous week, which is no mean feat!
One great sportsman once said “Winning is not important as long as you win” how right he was.

The game against Montauban was a classic; MHRC turned up the heat several notches and went on a whirlwind of attack. An occasion not to be missed, and the 10,000 plus spectators were given a spectacle that will be talked about for weeks to come. By scoring 4 tries to 1 MHRC gained their first attacking bonus point of the season and therefore, now share second place with Perpignan in Frances Elite.

Next Saturday September19th. MHRC opponents are Perpignan k.o.20.30 another tough home game but I’m sure our Blue and Whites are up to the task, tickets are still available from the Boutique, or over the phone : 04 67 47 99 71, but hurry as MHRC could be playing in front of a full house.

The season has only just started but there seems to be an aroma of success, confidence and belief surrounding the stadium at this very moment. The players, staff, officials, in fact everyone involved with MHRC are going about their business with a buzz,  thinking is this going to be the year where the hard yards will be turned into success? As each game is played, that Heineken qualification does seem to becoming clearer and closer, but there is still a long way to go!
The mighty wheels of the MHRC are starting to rotate elsewhere.

The Espoirs who are the current French Champions kick off their season with a visit to Albi on the 21st.of September and their first home game is against Brive on the 28th.September their performances no doubt will be equal if not better than last year, but that will be a hard act to follow.

Our glorious girls started their campaign with an away victory against Sassenage Isere, last Sunday 14th of September scoring no less than 6 tries to finish 14-38 winners and take maximum points, excellent start to their season. Their first home game is against Dijon R.C. Sunday the 21st.September,we wish them every success and hope that this year they will surpass their efforts of 2007/8 and bring home the French Championship, as most  remember narrowly losing the finale, but they are still reigning European Champions.

The Ecole de Rugby opened its gates on the 3rd of September; and already has a fixture list full of matches and tournaments throughout the coming new season.

If you are interested in the rugby schools for your children the starting age is from 5 years old, please do not hesitate to contact MHRC through our web-site www.montpellier-rugby.com .
