Monday 10.30 over 1500, dignities, supporters and club officials were present for the first public training session of the season. Although the players were a little late on duty, the supporters were entertained by speeches from the club’s new President Mohed Altrad and other VIP’s from the Montpellier Agglomeration, the Sapeur Pompiers were also present to deal with several insulations and dehydrations as the temperature had scorched to a warmish 36°.

The training session was appreciated by all and the players were put through their paces by our three coaches Galthie, Bechu, and Bes, even with the sun drenching the training park the players gave an excellent account of themselves and only stopped when allowed to take on liquids. At the end of the training session the players obliged the supporters with photographs and autographs and all left happily after seeing their favourites in action.
On the touchline our World Cup players,  Geogians Mamuka Gorgodze, Goderzi Shvelidze, and Club Captain Fulgence Ouedraogo had also made the effort to be present and spent most of their time signing literally hundreds of autographs, all three looked in tremendous shape and chomping at the bit to get started in this years showcase event The World Cup in New Zealand which starts on 9th Sept.
The final days to countdown for the opening match of this seasons TOP 14 against Racing Metro in Paris on Friday evening are getting nearer and nearer, a very short preparation this season but that’s what happens when you participate in the TOP 14 FINAL.
Will Montpellier have the start that they had last season? One thing is for sure, wherever they play the opposition will be ready and waiting as finalists’ last season, respect will be shown, and even just maybe, the referees will recognise the same fact.
