RUGBY ACADEMY
The program was founded in September 2001 and is fully dependent on the Club. It gained national academy status and has been ranked since 2004-2005 season in the first and best class - out of three . The ranking is established by both the National Rugby League and the French Ruby Federation.
The Rugby Academy goals are :
- to encourage and produce young talents; to help them reach the Elite level
- to give them the opportunity to carry out their studies and thus, to prepare them to manage their post athletic career.
- to provide the assistance of a dedicated physiotherapy team
- to provide adapted catering and accommodation facilities; to create for the young players the most comfortable surrounding environment.
In the forthcoming seasons, the MHRC Rugby Academy will endeavour to reach excellence by producing as many young Elite players as possible.
The program will sustain its efforts and keep on improving the quality of coaching on both fields: school and athletics.
At school :
- Personal assessment and career, or education advising will be systemized when entering and leaving the Program.
- Individual training and development will be strengthened
- First job placement will be improved when leaving the Academy
- Individual tutoring hours will be increased
- New computers and educational equipment will be bought
On training :
- Matrix to assess individual performance will be better defined. They will help improve individual coaching and development
- A ‘dojo’ will be set up in our training centre to train wrestling
- New rugby specific equipment will be bought for training
- A specific training plan will be put in place for the first-row forwards
- Coaches coming from other sports will be consulted to exchange their experiences and add up to rugby players’ individual technique and performance
Other changes will also take place :
- The catering facility will be refurnished
- Dietetic control will be improved for lunch
- Efforts to strengthen team spirit will be made : more off-sites trainings will be planned, more equipments and outfits will be provided by the Club official Suppliers
