YVES DU MANOIR STADIUMy at the top in Montpellier’s district
Since the end of July 2005, a new building site can be seen while driving on the ring near by Vannière Avenue.
For once this impressive building site is not about Montpellier’s tramway second line, but really, is to become Montpellier’s brand new Rugby Arena : the future ‘Yves du Manoir Stadium’

This new athletic complex meets all requirements of professional rugby games and well suits the increasing popularity of the sport in Montpellier’s area.
The district of Montpellier, the major rugby sponsor in the area, has well understood the need to develop adapted infrastructures and has founded the project.
Evidently, its goals are twofold :
- To own in the area a modern athletic complex dedicated to professional rugby
- To promote and develop the practice of the sport and attract a larger public.

The Site seen from Vannière Avenue
A unique site in France !
The entire area, so called ‘Ovalie district’ is unique in France. It will be the House of Montpellier Hérault Rugby club and will be able to host national and international competitions.
The athletic complex will offer two rugby fields (a major stadium of 12000 seats and a smaller one of 500 seats) as well as three other training fields.
The complex will also bear within its walls the MHRC’s Club-House and offices, meeting rooms, accommodation and a restaurant opened daily with capacity of 200 seats.
By an large the facilities will be well suited to welcome youngsters from rugby academies and various schools. The main contributor ‘Montpellier Agglomération’ made it a necessary condition to found the project.
And here is a snapshot of the site as of now :
