RUGBY SCHOOL

‘Rugby school : the University of life’

Rugby builds all-round athletes.
Rugby is a team sport par excellence : welcome to sturdy men, skinny bones, shy or out-going, small ones, girls or boys… It is a sport where kids learn to share, to all stand together and to understand the meaning of friendship.

Together with his team mates, the young player learns how to overcome his fear and he becomes stronger.
A number of former Academy youngsters made their mark in MHRC’s Elite Team on our Home field of ‘Sabathé Stadium’

Coaching Staff : Only certified and experimented coaches from the French Rugby Federation, are in charge of training youngsters registered in our program. They are assisted by undergraduate’s students from the Athletics Program of Montpellier’s University, known as ‘STAPS’.

Training and facilities : Our program counts
- More than 200 youngsters
- Five age groups, from 5 to 15
- The Under-nines train two hours every Wednesday in Sabathé Stadium
- The Mid-layers age groups are based in our facility of ‘Grammont’
- The eldest ones – the ‘minimes’ age group from 15 down to 13 - train on various centres from our local club partners. Every weekend they played tournaments or league match. The ‘minimes’ play the National ‘Super Challenge Minimes’ championships.
Thanks to local institutional partners – the City of Montpellier or ‘Département de l’Hérault’, the Rugby Academy offers its young players the opportunity to take part into a number of exchange programs with international rugby schools.
